Lemniscate The Angel Star Sequel Jennifer Murgia Books
Lemniscate is the sequel to Angel Star (review here) which I loved, so I was very excited to dive back into this world again. We pick up pretty much right where Angel Star left off with Teagan and Garreth trying to adjust to everyday life together. Now that Garreth is on Earth full time Teagan is soaking up every moment with him. That time does get interrupted quite frequently with her mom's new love interest and his step daughter, Brynn, who's goal in life seems to be ruining Teagan's. Teagan is trying to make the best of the situation but Brynn is not making it easy on her.As Teagan's life begins to unravel we do get to delve into the lore behind angels and what role Teagan plays in their world. She is still not quite convinced of her power and this book puts her strength to the test and then some. With the loss of Claire still haunting her Teagan is determined to keep everyone in her life safe and often puts their needs before her own. While an admirable quality to posses, it does put her happiness on the back burner and my heart went out to her numerous times when her life seemed to be crumbling around her.
I will admit that in the middle of the book Garreth was getting some evil glares from me. I think he let his new found humanity seep in a little too much and a moody teanage boy took over the body of the angel for awhile. Needless to say, I was not a fan. The reason for his mood swings is explained to you in the book and it makes sense, I just wanted to smack some sense into him at some points. But sometimes certain events are necessary and people need to struggle through life before they truly know who they are.
The surprising part to this little plot twist was how Hadrian really started to worm his way into my heart. I did not see that coming at all. I thought my name was permanently under the Team Garreth banner, but what is that expression about actions speaking louder than words? I think Hadrian's actions spoke a little louder than Garreth in this novel, which was an interesting suprise.
Boys aside, I was really happy with the flow of this book. It kept the same exciting, no fluff, full of suspense feel that I came to love in Angel Star. I think this might be it for the series right now *sadly sniffs* but I will hold out hope that Jennifer will revisit this world again someday and bring us more in the life of Teagan.

Lemniscate The Angel Star Sequel Jennifer Murgia Books Reviews
Once again, Jennifer Murgia worked her magic! Without giving away too much, let me say that this is an amazing sequel to an amazing debut novel. Readers who enjoy terrific characters and an unique twist on angel lore will love both Angel Star and Lemniscate. I normally do not like female MC, nor first person, but I am CRAZY about these books. They're that good!
Bravo, Jennifer
I got this book and like the first book it moved too fast. I didn't really feel any chemistry between Teagan and Garrath. I had read all the wonderful reviews and I read this one just to see how it eneded. I felt there was something missing in both books. Maybe its that the author didn't take the time to really develop the characters or something but it lacked something.
I enjoyed reading this second installment in the Angel Star series. Unlike the first book, Angel Star, Teagan learned to rely on herself instead of her angel. I loved seeing her strength and resolve grow through this new independence.
In this second book, Teagan's best friend is Ryan. Tea and Ryan have a lot of fun together. I enjoyed any scene with the two of them. Their banter and relationship was entertaining. I really liked Ryan. He sounded cute and trustworthy and . . . human. I kind of wish sometimes Teagan would hook up with him instead of Garreth. For me, Ryan is the Twilight's Team Jacob equivalent.
Oh Garreth, you made me angry during this book. I'm not sure if everyone would agree with me, and I don't want to go into details. I believe in forgiveness, but I really think there should have been more of a discussion between him and Teagan over a few of his choices. Those of you who've read the book know what I'm talking about. But hey, no one likes a flawless character.
A new character, Dr. Nathaniel Dean, was introduced at the end of Angel Star but played a bigger part in Lemniscate. Nate is dating Teagan's mom. Well, I'll let you see what happens with all that when you read it yourself.
Overall, an entertaining read! I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I was so stoked to get LEMNISCATE (Angel Star #2) in the mail today. I absolutely loved the first book, ANGEL STAR and the reviews for LEMNISCATE so far have been over the moon... So I know I'm on my own with this one, but I found myself underwhelmed by the sequel. Although all the characters remained the same, sadly somehow (for me anyway) this installment lacked the connection that was so strongly there in the first book... for lack of a better term, I just wasn't "feeling" it.
I think that the reason for my inability to connect with the characters, I previously loved so much, might be that the first half of the book felt really rushed to me; like way too much happened... A drastic plot twist, too many extreme emotional changes with Teagan, everything seemed disjointed and chaotic and to be perfectly honest it was all a bit confusing. And although most of the bizarre occurrences are explained by the end of the book; they were still a cause of disconnect for me while reading through.
Even though I was a bit disappointed with LEMNISCATE, it did have a few aspects to it that saved the book for me. I found Ryan's character to be refreshing and felt he brought much needed warmth to the story. And Murgia did an excellent job with the ending... the last 60 pages or so were pretty strong; rich with answers to question stemming from both books. I just wish the whole book had that strength and richness to it.
